Picture Recovery from Memory Cards that are Corrupt

Professionals such as photographers or digital studio owners take special care in maintaining the memory cards to be used in thier cameras. As their job is dependent on the photos, they make sure that nothing untoward happens which leads to their deletion. Anyone can know these steps for taking care of their photos that are personally very dear. Despite the precautionary steps, one can never count on accidents or unforeseen circumstances which cause deletion of pictures to stay away. Specialized photo recovery tools may be required in such situations. Some software can retrieve the pictures from any type of storage media.

The best thing for you would be that you never ever need photo recovery software and the precautionary steps prove good enough. In case of any emergency only that such options should be used.

Photos can be lost due to:-
  • Taking out the memory card while camera is not switched off yet.
  • Accidental formatting of the card or deletion of data.
  • Damage or corruption of the storage media in which the photos are saved.
  • Switching off digital camera during the write process.
  • Corrupted file system.

Besides being cautious of these human errors, some more ways of maintaining the memory card are:-
  • Using memory card case for keeping the card after removal from digital camera.
  • Abide by the 5 seconds rule when taking out the memory card from digital camera, i.e. wait for 5 seconds after a message of the camera which says you can.
  • Don't format the memory card in the computer.
  • Use many low storage capacity memory cards rather than one that stores all your photos. This is basically an “all eggs in one basket” kind of tip.
  • When buying memory cards, choose those that are turned out by the camera companies or ones with good customer ratings on online retail websites.

You may also simply use third-party digital picture recovery software for getting back your lost photos from any type of storage media and not just memory cards.
